UPGRADE TO OUTLOOK 2016 UPGRADE
We recommend that all users upgrade to the supported versions of Office and Microsoft 365 Apps. Supported versions of Outlook for Windows in Office and Microsoft 365 will continue to connect to Microsoft 365 services as expected.
UPGRADE TO OUTLOOK 2016 UPDATE
To see a list of the currently supported versions, visit Update history for Microsoft 365 Apps (listed by date) (for Microsoft 365 Apps) or Latest updates for versions of Office that use Windows Installer (MSI) (see “Latest Public Update” for Office 20). Versions that are newer than minimum version requirements listed above, but are not the currently supported version, may experience connectivity issues.
UPGRADE TO OUTLOOK 2016 ARCHIVE
I am still using Outlook 2007 and I have 8 archive folders plus two current email accounts. This issue will happen with any account where the emails and other items are stored locally in PST or OST files such as POP and IMAP accounts. I am hesitant to upgrade to Outlook 2016.
“After upgrade to Windows 11, Outlook searches return no results. In an advisory published recently, Microsoft also offered a workaround, explaining that users just need to trigger the rebuild of the search index in Outlook.
More specifically, Microsoft explains that some users who upgrade to Windows 11 would no longer be able to get any results for their Outlook searches due to the search index that’s being deleted during the installation of the OS. Microsoft has recently acknowledged another bug in Windows 11, this time concerning the Outlook searches users perform after installing the new operating system.
